Background & The Client:

Kimberly Lee Allen is the owner of Revived Total Imaging in Bryans Road, MD, a full-service salon offering hair styling, makeup application, and skincare treatments. Beyond her salon work, Kimberly also serves as a trainer and instructor at Spectrum Beauty Academy, where she educates aspiring cosmetologists. Spectrum Beauty Academy describes itself as a career-focused learning environment with small classes and hands-on training.

Challenge & Goals:

Salon owners and beauty educators face a common problem: they need professional visuals, but working with models on a timer is chaotic, and candid mobile snapshots don't sell expertise. At the same time, a training seminar is a live, high-stakes environment—there are no second takes for the instructor's key teaching moments.

The goals for this project were to:

→ Produce high-quality brand imagery that positions Revived Total Imaging as a polished, professional destination

→ Capture Kimberly's role as an educator (at Spectrum Beauty Academy) to support her authority and thought leadership

→ Document an instructor-led training seminar fully and reliably—both for archival use and for marketing the academy

Style & Technique:

The project required two distinct visual languages:

Salon Branding:

    Style → Polished, editorial, beauty-focused

    Lighting → Controlled studio strobes

    Composition → Posed, deliberate, hero‑oriented

Color → Warm, rich skin tones, slightly desaturated background

Seminar Documentation:

    Style → Candid, documentary, educational

Lighting → Practical classroom lighting + on‑camera fill

Composition → Reactive, over‑the‑shoulder, wide and tight angles

Color → Neutral, true‑to‑life, minimally graded

This contrast was intentional:
It visually separates "the salon's brand" from "the educator's expertise" —letting each asset stand on its own.

Results & Impact:

Although specific client metrics weren't publicly available at the time of this write‑up, successful case studies typically track outcomes like:

→ Higher engagement on posts featuring professional imagery

→ Increased booking inquiries for the salon and the academy

→ Time saved by the client: no longer relying on inconsistent mobile photos

→ A reusable content library (photos + video) for websites, ads, and social media
