Twenty years ago, I left the U.S. Army with a simple belief: excellence isn't negotiable, but it doesn't have to be intimidating.
Today, Straun Studios represents that philosophy in action. We're a veteran-owned creative agency specializing in digital filmmaking and visual storytelling that delivers measurable results for organizations that matter. From commercial brands and lifestyle companies to arts communities and cultural organizations in Prince George's County, we bring the same level of precision, creativity, and authenticity to every project.
From Flatbush Brooklyn, New York city, I am raised on the understanding that excellence is earned, not given. My journey took me from the streets of New York to military service, where I learned that preparation determines outcomes and attention to detail can be the difference between mission success and failure. That foundation carried me through two decades in video production, working with everyone from government contractors to community churches, always with the same commitment: create work so good people remember it for years.
The military taught me discipline. Twenty years in production taught me craft. But choosing to build my life and business in Prince George's County—my adopted home and the nation's richest Black community—taught me that authentic excellence comes from understanding and serving the people who welcomed you, not just delivering work.
I am an artist and a soldier. That combination drives everything we do at Straun Studios: the creative vision to see what's possible and the systematic discipline to make it happen, every time.
Every frame tells a story. Every design spark connection. Every project is a chance to transform the ordinary into extraordinary. Whether I'm working with a nighttime janitor documenting their pride in their work or collaborating with corporate executives on training that saves lives, the dedication to craft remains the same. I am always excited to collaborate with fellow creatives, forward-thinking brands, and anyone who believes that visual media can change the world—one frame at a time.
